LiDAR processing

Point-cloud classification and object placement for utility and telecom corridor mapping, from the data you or your survey partner collect.

What you get

  • Classified point cloudsPoints sorted into the classes you specify, such as ground, vegetation, poles, wires and structures.
  • Object placementPoles, spans and structures placed as features from the cloud, with the attributes you ask for.
  • Corridor mappingPowerline and telecom corridors mapped from the classified data.
  • Delivery in your formatClassified point clouds and GIS features returned in the formats and naming your software expects.

What you send us

  1. The point-cloud data and its coverage tiles.
  2. Your classification scheme: which classes, and the rules for each.
  3. The list of features to place and the attributes each one needs.
  4. A sample area finished the way you want it, if you have one.
SoftwareArcGIS and QGIS for the mapped features. Tell us your point-cloud software and formats, and we confirm the fit before a pilot.

How it is priced

By the unit, on a one-page work order agreed before work starts. The rate sheet comes with your pilot quote.

perhourClassification and object placement
Billed by the hour. We estimate the hours from a sample tile before the job starts.

What stays with you

Collection and accuracy stay with you. We do not fly or survey, and we do not certify survey accuracy. Where a licensed surveyor must sign, that is your surveyor.

Common questions

Do you collect LiDAR data?

No. We process data that you or your survey partner collect.

Which classes can you classify?

The classes you specify. Ground, vegetation, poles, wires and structures are the usual set for corridor work.

How do we send large datasets?

By the transfer method you prefer. Production is outside the United States, so tell us first if your contract requires the data to stay in the US.

How do we know the result is right?

Start with a sample tile. You check it against your own acceptance rules before any volume work begins.

Try it on a small package first

Send about 50 poles or 2 miles. You judge the result against your own standards and pay only for what you accept.
